The Houston Rockets started off the 2018-19 seen unexpectedly losing 5 of their first six games. Tonight’s victory over Victor Olidipo and the Pacers moves them one game closer to .500.
Solid games from Capela and Harden kept the Rockets in this one until they eventually were able to pull away late and get the 4 point victory. The third straight win since James (Ennis) return from injury and Harden’s second game back from his hamstring hiatus. Rockets are looking to regain their winning ways although their currently sitting at 11th in the west and sharing a similar records as two teams they were defeated by earlier in the season.
Defense came on strong last and allow the Rockets to overcome a Pacers lead and hold Olidipo off late. Rockets entered the 4th quarter down 75-69 but managed to hold Indiana to their lowest scoring quarter of the game (19 pts) while registering 29 points to squeak away with the victory.
Capela plugged a double-double with 18 points and 10 boards. The reigning MVP dropped a respectable 28 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. While CP3, who hasn’t been the scoring threat he was last season, was a point off from a double-double and chimed in with 13 assists. James Ennis was the only other Rockets in double figures with 13.
Rockets were without Eric Gordon who is still out with an injury. Rockets will be taking on the OKC Thunder Thursday as they continue their 5 game road trip.
