Here in Houston things haven’t gotten off to the best start for the Rockets but that hasn’t stopped them from keeping their plans of overcoming the Golden State Warriors. Recently they have been vying for the services of Jimmy Butler from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Rockets aren’t alone in the pursuit of Jimmy Butler though. Also, they are not alone in claiming the Timberwolves are setting a high price for Butler, on what could only amount to be a one year rental.
Even though Houston offered up four first round picks the T’Wolves don’t feel like the best possible offer for a trade has been made.
Minnesota owner was on record stating that they’ve received offers from almost half of the NBA but expect to receive a better offer.
“The timing for this is just very poor. The other teams, and ourselves, were just putting our teams together (when Butler requested the trade). Most of them don’t want to be disrupted this early into the season. We’ve had some teams that have lost some games pretty early, that they didn’t expect. Those are probably the teams that will have the best opportunity to make a trade.
I personally feel like he is referring to the Rockets. Some of that quote would be considered spot on in reference to Houston and how this season has progressed so far. They’ve already made an offer which many consider to be desperate. Considering the Rockets don’t necessarily value draft picks as much as proven talent I think it was a reasonable offer.
In order to expedite the trade Jimmy Butler has began to sit out games.
Looks like Minnesota wont mind holding out until the get what they want. Whatever or whoever that is will not be a talent like Butler. We’ll see how that saga plays out. Hopefully in Houston’s favor.
